Καλως Ορισατε!
See You Next Year
ΚΑΛΩΣ ΩΡΙΣΑΤΕ! Welcome, From Fr George

It is with particular joy and gratitude that I welcome all of you to our 42nd Annual Greek Festival, one of the premiere cultural events in Utah. On behalf of our entire Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake Community, I invite you to become “Greek” for a weekend, and thus, to immerse yourselves into our Hellenic culture and zest for life.

As Hellenes, we are known for our hospitality and our love of life. I am confident that you will experience both of these sentiments while you enjoy our fabulously delicious food and desserts, dance to our upbeat music with our exciting Greek Youth Dancers and discover more about our Eastern Orthodox Faith while touring our magnificent Church. We are most grateful to our many volunteers and sponsors, without whose dedication and countless hours of labor, this Festival would not exist. It is to their credit that this wonderful event attracts so many people from across the State and across so many ethnicities.

Your generosity in supporting our Church’s major fundraiser affords us the opportunity to in turn give back to our Community by donating a portion of our proceeds to local charities as well as Community Outreach efforts, of which we are most proud to assist with. Needless to say, none of this would be possible if it were not for YOUR annual support and enthusiasm!! As such, we thank you for your patronage and pray that your time spent this weekend will be most enjoyable and full of κέφι – “fun with an attitude!”

With Gratitude and Sincere Appreciation,

† Archim. George Nikas
† Very Reverend Archimandrite George Nikas

Greetings from Our Parish Council President

The Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake is delighted to welcome you to our 42nd Salt Lake Greek Festival. This annual event gives the Salt Lake Greek Community the opportunity to share our deep-rooted culture with the great people of the state of Utah. The annual Salt Lake Greek Festival has evolved from its humble beginnings as a bazaar in the basement of the Church showcasing handcrafted items into one of the country's finest and largest Greek festivals. The Salt Lake Greek Festival has also become a Salt Lake community fundraiser, with a large percentage of the proceeds being distributed each year to local charities and community outreach programs.

This wonderful community event is only possible with the labor of love put in by the many volunteers, who spend countless hours preparing for the festival and staffing the three-day event. Equally important are our loyal sponsors who support us each year, some of whom have been with us for the entire 42 years!

We invite you to join us in experiencing our Greek heritage by taking a tour of Holy Trinity Cathedral, visiting the Hellenic Cultural Museum and of course enjoying a wide variety of food and pastries while being entertained with Greek music and dance performances. OPA!

Very Truly Yours,
Thomas W. Peters
2017 Parish Council President
